Right out of college, I was given the opportunity to work in the marketing department of Emery Sapp & Sons, a 500+ employee strong A/E/C (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) company operating out of four states with completed and on-going projects in seven states. During my time in this position, I handled various marketing and design responsibilities such as:

  • Planning & executing on-site photo shoots

  • Photo manipulation for digital, print, and web applications

  • Designing, editing, and updating the website through WordPress

  • Internal and external email marketing campaigns

  • Designing for internal and external mail campaigns

  • Social Media content planning

  • Event planning and management

    • Landing page design​

    • Associated marketing materials

    • Wayfinding & Branding

    • Email and mail marketing campaigns for registration and reminders

    • Selection and design of merchandise

Powered By Employee Ownership

As an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) company, where the employees - after a vesting period - own an increasing percentage of the company, we wanted to highlight the contributions that made the company a leader in infrastructure development and maintenance. We did this by dedicating a month of digital and print content to showcasing our employees. Each week a new mail brochure arrived to our employees, featuring an employee, a little about their time with the company and an explanation about the benefits of employee ownership from each of the three companies under the Emery Sapp & Sons umbrella, ESS, Achen-Gardner, and Hutchens Construction.

9th Annual Employee-Owners Meeting

For our three-day annual employee-owners meeting, I had the opportunity to plan and coordinate registration and event landing pages with periodic email invitations to all employees, social media event promotion, in-mail event brochures, event signage, branding and branded merchandise/prizes.

Learn + Earn

I played an outsized role in the planning, design, and management of our continuing education and networking event for engineers hosted in three locations across Missouri, attracting over 1200 engineers from four states. We brought in thought leaders and politicians to talk about industry-leading trends and techniques for improving infrastructure. I wish I had access to more of the files I had developed for this event, however, they included:

  • Periodically scheduled email invites for over 3000 engineers

  • Registration landing pages for each location

  • Social media event promoting

  • event signage, wayfinding, and branding

SIOR After Party

SIOR (Society of Industrial and Office Realtors) a large networking and awards event for industrial engineering companies is something ESS always sought to participate in. One way to further those networking ties and opportunities was for us to host and after-party. For this project, we decided to have a little fun and break away from the usual company branding to bring out the smoke-filled speakeasy vibe of El Pozo. We personally handed out these invites to a select few engineers during SIOR.
